It is with a deep sorrow and sadness on behalf of the Hindu community we represent that The Hindu Council UK pay tribute to the Queen.

Today we are mourning the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, our longest serving monarch. For 70 long years, through great achievements and great challenges, the Queen’s steady leadership safeguarded the country she loved.

It is the end of an era which will go down as a unique and important period in history. She has been the greatest reigning monarch who served her people unconditionally. She guided venerable institutions through modern times using timeless virtues like duty, dignity, and sacrifice. She offered our contemporary world a living masterclass it needed badly.

She personified dignity, grace and inspired everyone with her smile. A remarkable woman who served her country and the commonwealth with loyalty and humility. She left a legacy that will live on long after and will always be remembered.

During the period of national mourning, the British Hindu community and Hindu institutions will be arranging special meetings and prayers.

We extend our heartfelt and sincere condolences to the new King Charles lll and the Royal family at this hour of profound loss. Our prayers are for her wonderful soul and her family’s strength. The nation will miss her but treasure all that she did.
